I have been maintaining my own web sites for many years mostly using Joomla. I have now switched to Drupal for flexiblity even if the system management burden is higher. Many years I ago I was a heavyweight system developer and troubleshooter on large corporate systems. After a subsequent career running very large IT programmes I am back to working as a photographer and writer - hence the switch to Drupal to give more capability for my various websites. However I try to avoid writing code as much as possible preferring to achieve what I want through configuration.
