Commonmark migration
Oct 1, 2017 at 14:21 comment added Pierre.Vriens @olisb Maybe an additional suggestion is to have your Rules Component call yet another (new) Rules Component, which uses a node as a parameter. That way, in this new Rules Component you probably have available what you're looking for (and if not go get it via an "Fetch enity by ID" (with the id being the id of the node passed as a parameter).
Mar 1, 2016 at 17:39 comment added olisb OK! :) some progress: I made the Component OK, using Entity > Content (which looks like it might work...) But now I have an issue with the Rule itself: When I try to create the Loop: I can see my "node:field:whatever" but it wont let me use that on its own, it's demanding "node:field:whatever:author" or "node:field:whatever:body" etc, which seems odd to me as it's an entity ref field and therefore doesn't have those attributes... When I try to add it I get: Error: Data selector node:field:whatever for parameter list is invalid. Thanks for getting me this far! Any more suggestions?
Feb 25, 2016 at 18:17 comment added No Sssweat @olisb in Rules 8 nodes are called content, so I think using content is worth a shot. Perhaps you have installed a module that changes node to content?
Feb 25, 2016 at 15:41 comment added olisb very strange - thanks for all your help. I also logged in and tested it at simplytest.me and I do see the Entity > node option, but not on my setup :( I updated my Drupal to the latest version 7.34 but still no joy. Perhaps Entity - node is missing because of a conflict with another module? Or perhaps I could use something else, like Entity - Content?
Feb 13, 2016 at 23:21 comment added No Sssweat on simplytest.me/project/rules selecting the 7.x.2.9 option, login, enable rules UI. Add component, Node shows up. So no, there shouldn't be a need for another module. I then installed ubercart and enabled all ubercart modules and node still shows up. So idk why it's not showing up for you.
Feb 13, 2016 at 21:07 comment added olisb thanks No Ssswaet :) Unfortunately I don't have Entity > Node in my menu - perhaps I need another module to make it show up!? see my screenshot: defactodesign.com/sites/default/files/…

Feb 12, 2016 at 18:26 comment added olisb thanks - this looks like it might work, but I'm stuck. In Components I don't have an option for Data Type: "Node", I only see things like: Date, Duration, Flag etc and then lots of Entity options and List options. Which should I choose?
