Drupal Database or mysqlMySQL Databse

I am pretty new to drupal I want to create a dynamic website. Where does druplalDrupal store its data? Is mySqla MySQL database requirerequired to store the data? If drupalDrupal has its own database, does ithaveit have any limitation? I am pretty new to Drupal.
