May 21, 2020 at 8:46 comment added brett The above code will give out an error in JS console: TypeError: jQuery(...).setCustomValidity is not a function; It should be called like this: jQuery('.ed_form input[type="text"]').each(function(){jQuery(this)[0].setCustomValidity("This is a custom message."); }); as setCustomValidity is not a jQuery method but a plain vanilla JS one, so it should be called against a JS object not against a a jQuery one.
