Jun 25, 2017 at 14:35 comment added purplemind If you set Status header to '206 Partial Content' then you need (your server need) to deliver chunks of requested bytes. For example, Chrome sends the first request for a mp4 file, server respond with Accept-Ranges: bytes, Status: 206 Partial Content. This is a signal for Chrome to send another request for first n bytes (n < total bytes of mp4 file), but there is nothing on server side to deliver n bytes. So, you need to implement delivering requested bytes or install some module that has already implemented the process.
Jun 18, 2017 at 23:15 comment added Kari Kääriäinen Thanks. I added headers with hook_file_download. No success yet, though. I didn't install Resumable Download, but I copied some of those drupal_add_http_header calls from there. I edited the questions to describe the current situation.
