For a basic check for exposed filters, you could search for class="views-exposed-form" in $view-result or $markup. If there are exposed filters, that class will be their parent.

You just look for the length of a $('myView .views') and if it's 0, remove the view's div. The advantage of getting used to the jQuery approach is you can alter other things in the dom however you like. | |
