Apr 20, 2012 at 2:12 comment added AKS misc-jquery.js isn't exact same copy of a jquery version, as far as I know. However, according to git, drupalcode.org/project/jquery_update.git/tree/refs/heads/… , there should could be a 1.7 support too.
