Aug 28, 2013 at 8:44 comment added Amarjit I believe this is not possible, unless you are creating custom displays and calling the OG functions. However, there is some work being done to get this functionality. If you are familiar with Drupal modules and such, you can follow this thread on Drupal, Allow the ability to rename "groups" / assign labels to groups.

At the center of this group, could be say a particular Page. This page may list information about this particular group. Think of it as the Event being a group and users being able to join that group. As well as this, users can post content to these groups. Thus every Event can have its own bunch of users.
Jul 26, 2013 at 9:17 comment added Andrew Welch My fear is that OG is too complex for what I want to do at the moment, and as far as I can see it uses entity reference for its associations. However, it may also solve one of the other problems I have which is how a user can assign other users to edit their content. Can you define what 'group' means here. Is it a group of users or a group of content or a group as in a 'real world group' like a classic car collectors club
Jul 26, 2013 at 8:59 comment added Andrew Welch I was talking about this yesterday. I will look into it.Have heard good and bad htings about the OG modules.- e.g. difficulty of configuration, but with some investigation should be able to figure it out.
