I am creating a Student portal in my project.

I am adding student by using content type.

That i gave title as "ADD STUDENT" as a Content name, but it shows "Create ADD STUDENT".

Help me to show the tile as "ADD STUDENT"

  • You want to change content type name in structure? – Ram Feb 16 '15 at 6:00
  • Yes. PS: The content name i gave as "ADD STUDENT", but it shows as "Create ADD STUDENT". The word "Create" appends whatever i gave in content name. – Sam1604 Feb 16 '15 at 7:22
  • That is the title of the form to create a node: Create <content type name>. You are confusing the title for the content type with the title of the form to create nodes of that content type. – kiamlaluno Apr 26 '15 at 20:00

You could use hook_preprocess_page() in a module:

function MYMODULE_preprocess_page(&$variables) {
  if (arg(1) == 'add' && arg(2) == 'add-student') {
    $types = node_type_get_types();
    $name = $types['add_student']->name;
    drupal_set_title("Add $name");
  }
}

I'd suggest setting your content type's display name to "Student" rather than "Add Student." You should just need to put the machine name of your content type in place of 'add-student' and 'add_student'

  • I agree: I find it rather strange to call a content type "Add Student" and then complain Drupal is showing "Create Add Student." The better is simply calling the content type Student, since it is supposed to contain data about a student, not about an entity called "add student." – kiamlaluno Apr 26 '15 at 20:07

I think you are thinking Create Key Personal Is a Content Name.

Look at my screen shots.

  • In last Screen shot in top having Create Basic Page. actually content name is Basic Page.
  • Here Create is a Instruction Keyword and Basic Page is a Content Name.

You can not change that name,that is a default one.that is not effecting your content type any where.

  • It's already "ADD STUDENT" only. But i dont know why it displayed as "Create ADD STUDENT" – Sam1604 Feb 16 '15 at 7:21
  • It displayed "Create ADD STUDENT" in content type name or machine name? – Ram Feb 16 '15 at 7:24
  • Content Name - ADD STUDENT Machine Name - add_student But in the add/Edit page it shows Content title as [Create ADD STUDENT] – Sam1604 Feb 16 '15 at 8:26
  • can you plz share your screen shot. – Ram Feb 16 '15 at 8:57
  • I think you are following these steps right? home-->content-->add content-->choose Add Student -->Here it shows 'Create Add Student' In top of Title Field. – Ram Feb 16 '15 at 9:00

One possibility for this is the String Overrides module

https://www.drupal.org/project/stringoverrides

It will let you set a string you want to replace, in this case "Create Key Personnel" with whatever you want, which would be "Key Personnel"

  • That module would change the title of the form to create nodes for every content type, not just the one the OP is talking of. – kiamlaluno Apr 26 '15 at 20:02
