I need to send an email containing the content from one or more selected nodes.

The nodes are selected in an email contact form by the user (which also needs to fill the rest of the form with other, more basic details).

Is there an efficient way to achieve that functionality?

If you mean to sending whole nodes, than from my lookup, this might be a solution for you.

If this solution doesn't satisfy you, an alternative would be to send the user a link to the printing version of that given node. This shouldn't be very much complicated in PHP I guess.

A print version can be made with this module (Make sure the printing-versions have HTML canonical tags referencing to the main node).

  • Hi, thank you for taking the time to reply. The solution you have linked to looks promising, can you clarify please, would I install this custom module and need nothing else (no webform) and how would I send a request to the custom code? – wot Apr 30 '16 at 14:05
  • Sorry, I wasn't clear, I mean would I need any other modules, like webform, and how do I direct submitted data to my code? – wot Apr 30 '16 at 15:27
  • It doesn't seem to me as you would need Webform for the first solution. About the second question - I can't tell what data you mean to from it but anyway I didn't try the code so I can't tell exactly ... You could comment in the linked page and it is plausible that someone will reply there. Tag any relevant user if you need to. – user16289 Apr 30 '16 at 15:32

I found the best solution for me was to use webform, which has custom email templates, and mimemail, which allows html emailing.
