I cannot add new or edit existing content types. This is a drupal 7 site. I keep getting the error:

The website encountered an unexpected error. Please try again later.

The log returns:

TYPE php

LOCATION http://www.example.com/admin/structure/types/add

REFERRER http://www.example.com/admin/structure/types MESSAGE

EntityMetadataWrapperException: Invalid data value given. Be sure it matches the required data type and format. in EntityDrupalWrapper->set() (line 737 of /home/example/public_html/sites/all/modules/entity/includes/entity.wrapper.inc). SEVERITY error

Can someone please help? I'm kinda stuck!

The site has been live over a year. All the modules are up to date.

  • When was the last time (when it worked fine) that you added or edited a content type? – No Sssweat Jun 5 '16 at 6:13
  • It's been awhile since I have had to. Probably 10 months. It was a pretty static site. Adding a shopping cart. I didn't even think to check before I started as in 3 years of drupal development - never had this happen! – April Wells Rosequist Jun 5 '16 at 20:17
  • What do you mean by "Adding a shopping cart"? Did you just add one? which cart? – longboardnode Jun 6 '16 at 12:33

It ended up being an issue with the modules and the version of drupal I was running. I was unable to fix and had to recreate the entire site.
