Internet of Things is the next big area in which web-development is expanding. A lot of new technologies have been coming to provide the back-end and front-end components of IoT. I see Django and the MEAN Stack being extensively used for this purpose.

However, I was wondering if anyone has used Drupal for an IoT application. I could find this session in DrupalCon Vienna where they demonstrated using Drupal 8 for an IoT application. However, they haven't shared their slides or videos.

Can someone share some examples of Drupal being used for IoT applications? Also, what are the shortcomings of Drupal being used as an IoT application? Will Drupal be ever suitable for IoT?

  • "Questions asking to recommend or find a book, tool, module, theme, distribution, tutorial, or other off-site resource are off-topic for Drupal Answers as they tend to attract opinionated answers and spam. Instead, describe the problem and what has been done so far to solve it." – leymannx, kiamlaluno
