I am using REST request to register user from a mobile app. I am successful in registering a user via REST post request. However, the user does not get account activation email and the account is already in an active state while it should be in blocked state until the user clicks the link in the email and activates his account.

If I try to set the "status" field, then I get this error.

{
    "message": "Access denied on creating field 'status'."
}

Also, in account settings of user registration on the Drupal site, the radio is also selected which means that verification email will be sent. A user can register normally through a browser and receive the email normally, but via REST request, it is not working.

How can I fix this? Any help would be appreciated!
