We're having issues uploading files. Some files encounter an error message that states

The specified file temporary://p1dah901n910tl8lv14.tmp could not be copied, because no file by that name exists. Please check that you supplied the correct filename.

That temporary file name is different each time. The original filename, format, and size don't seem to have any influence on what files get rejected.

Any idea what could be causing this? This happens when uploading with IMCE as well as via the Content > Files page. Running Drupal 7.

  • Most likely because Drupal is doesn't have permission to write to your /files folder. Check your folder owner/group and permissions. – No Sssweat May 24 '19 at 22:33
