Is there any known way to bind the select options of a webform to the output of a view? I'm thinking of a webform implemented with the Webform module, though I may consider other solutions. I searched in vain so far for an answer still valid today.

Thanks in advance!

  • Not exactly clear on what you're asking, but Webform Views Integration might be what you're looking for.

  • @NoSssweat I'm thinking of a list of options that is built up dynamically by considering a possible changing list of item ids and item names, where the items are inserted as elements of a dedicated content type. In the description for Webform Views Integration I read "Use Webform Views Integration module to expose Webform submissions to Views": should I give it a try anyway?

You need to create a view of display type "entity reference". Configure and filter the view as desired. Any entity reference field then can use such a view as source for its selectable options. This can be done with any content field and webform also supports this.
