For me `dpm($variable)` didn't work whereas `krumo($variable)` worked.

I just solved the problem with a simple `print dpm($variable)`, not just `dpm($variable)`. After I read @svetlios answer I found out I didn't had `print $messages` in my `page.tpl.php` anymore; unfortunately, editing the page template wasn't an option for me.
